Ontario Announces a Resumption of all Construction Activities

As of 12:01 a.m. on Friday, June 11, all of Ontario will be entering Step 1 of the province’s reopening plan. As part of this reopening plan, all construction activities and related support services are permitted to resume operations.  O. Reg. 440/21, the amending regulation was filed on June 7, 2021, which amended O. Reg. 82/20: Rules for Areas in Shutdown Zone and at Step 1. The specific amendment is located at section 40 to Schedule 7 of O. Reg. 82/20 and provides that “Construction activities or projects and related services that support construction activities or projects, including demolition services” are included in the list of businesses allowed to operate during Step 1 of the province’s reopening plan.  

Therefore, as of 12:01 a.m. on Friday, June 11, all construction in Ontario is open again, including related services such as architecture.
