Saif Hashmi

Bio

Saif Hashmi is a construction lawyer whose practice is informed by his educational background in civil and structural engineering. Saif has two years of experience working for design consultants and general contractors, prior to beginning his legal career. His technical training provides him with a practical understanding of construction projects, design issues, project delivery methods, and the complex technical considerations that often underpin construction disputes.

Saif has acted on a range of high-value arbitration and litigation matters involving contractors, subcontractors, owners, and other project stakeholders. He brings a detail-oriented and analytical approach to dispute resolution, drawing on both legal training and construction knowledge to effectively assess technical evidence and advise his clients. Saif has a growing practice in representing clients in construction adjudications which allow clients to achieve payment dispute resolutions promptly.

In his dispute resolution practice, Saif has experience representing clients in arbitrations and civil litigation related to construction delay claims, breach of contract, negligence, construction liens, etc.  

Saif obtained his JD from Osgoode Hall Law School, where he was a research assistant exploring various Corporate Governance Issues. Before joining the firm, Saif worked as a caseworker at a legal clinic where he helped harmed investors of lesser financial means navigate the legal system.
