Derrick DodgsonStudent at Law
Derrick Dodgson is completing his articles with Glaholt LLP after previously working for the firm as a summer student in 2015. Derrick has already assisted with a wide variety of litigation and international arbitration matters through legal research, preparation of written submissions, witness examination, and more. Derrick has also contributed to industry publications including the Construction Law Letter.
Derrick obtained his J.D. from the Western University Faculty of Law, where he competed and placed in a number of internal and external advocacy competitions: In his first year, Derrick won the BLG/Cavaluzzo Shilton Labour Law Moot; he competed on behalf of Western Law in the 2014 Canadian Client Consultation Competition; Derrick again represented Western in the 2015 Davies Canadian Corporate/Securities Law Moot, where he and his team won second best factum in the competition. Derrick also participated as inaugural Vice-Chair in the founding of the Canadian Bar Association Law Students’ Forum.
Prior to law school, Derrick studied Civil Engineering, obtaining his B.Sc. (Eng) from Queen’s University. At Queen’s, Derrick was passionately involved in student government in a number of roles, including as President of the student Engineering Society and as director of the Queen’s Student Life Centre facilities.Derrick Dodgson
