Derrick Dodgson joined Glaholt LLP as an associate after Summering and Articling at the firm. Derrick has been involved in a wide variety of litigation and international arbitration matters and his experience includes conducting legal research, preparing written submissions, coordinating documentary discovery, examining witnesses, and attending court on motions and case conferences. Derrick's primary focus has been on supporting litigation teams in cases involving large, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects in Ontario and elsewhere. Derrick has also contributed to industry publications including the Construction Law Letter.
Derrick obtained his J.D. from the Western University Faculty of Law, where he competed and placed in a number of internal and external advocacy competitions: Derrick won the 2013 BLG/Cavaluzzo Shilton Labour Law Moot and represented Western Law at both the 2014 Canadian Client Consultation Competition and the 2015 Davies Canadian Corporate/Securities Law Moot, winning second best factum in the latter competition. Derrick also served as inaugural Vice-Chair in the founding of the Canadian Bar Association Law Students' Forum.
Prior to law school, Derrick studied Civil Engineering, obtaining his B.Sc. (Eng) from Queen's University. At Queen's, Derrick was passionately involved in student government in a number of roles, including as President of the student Engineering Society and as director of the Queen's Student Life Centre facilities.Derrick Dodgson
