Jackie van Leeuwen joined Glaholt LLP as an articling student after summering at a full-service firm, where she assisted on a wide variety of litigation matters.
Jackie’s experience includes conducting legal research, preparing written submissions and reports, coordinating documentary discovery and drafting contracts. During her time at the firm, Jackie has been involved with cases involving lien claims, delay claims and professional negligence and has assisted clients with matters ranging from large infrastructure projects to residential renovations.
Jackie obtained her J.D. from Queen’s University Faculty of Law. Prior to her studies in law, Jackie completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in English at Wilfrid Laurier University.
During law school, Jackie was actively involved with Queen’s Elder Law Clinic and spearheaded the Clinic’s prison initiative, which provides pro bono legal services to inmates. She was also a volunteer with Pro Bono Students Canada and Finance Chair of the Orientation Committee. In her final year of law school, Jackie spent a semester at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, where she studied international law.
